“Did you say I was coming? Yes, I'm ready!”
I don't even have to ask. Marvin always wants to go on an adventure. He knows exactly when it's one of those days where there's a chance he'll go, or when there's a risk he'll have to stay home. With age, he's learned our habits. I guess he can tell by the way we dress, what we pack, and who's getting ready.

Why with?
Yes, why exactly? It's not always possible to have your dog looked after. That's a decisive factor. Another could be that you just want to have your dog with you. I believe that both short and long walks are good exercise, and my dog is stimulated. Both body and mind get something to work on. I always have Marvin with me if possible. He is an important member of the family, and everyone misses him as soon as he's not with me.
Marvin's favorite places
I think nature comes first, followed by zoos. The many smells, sounds and sights are just the thing for a curious FT Cocker Spaniel like Marvin. He would also like to go to see family or friends, or to shops where dogs are allowed. He would also like to visit the vet, but he is always incredibly busy finding the car again when we go home.

Nature
We have so many beautiful places in Denmark where dogs are allowed. I enjoy going for a long walk in the forest or on the beach with Marvin. A walk around one of the many lakes where I live, or on the track is also always a good experience. There are plenty of options.
Holiday with dog
In the many years I have had a dog, there have only been more and more opportunities to bring your dog along. Many places advertise online that dogs are welcome. This makes it easier to plan an excursion or holiday. Hotels, holiday centres, inns and campsites offer different options for staying with a dog. Some places have specially designed rooms, agility courses, dog parks nearby or dog playgrounds. All to make it attractive for dog owners to spend their holidays with them. As a family, we have brought our dog along on several occasions. It requires a little extra preparation, and good planning is the basis for a good holiday with a dog.

You can't come.
Even though Marvin would like to go, it just isn't always possible. There can be many good reasons for that. Marvin can easily be alone for an afternoon. But if it's longer, the family will find some form of care. The most important thing is that you as a dog owner find a solution that works for both dog and family.

Marvin is a brown 4-year-old stubborn and happy cocker spaniel. He is a spoiled couch dog, family dog and home-trained service dog. He loves teddy bears and new adventures. As long as there is no vacuum cleaner in the adventure.
