Christmas blog

Now we have Christmas again, there's no hiding it
and we're really into it, we only talk about Christmas!

Yes, last time I did claim that this blog would be about my and Dumle's comeback on the competition circuit, but now that I have been given the honor of blogging on Christmas Eve, I'll take advantage of it to talk a little about Christmas!

Christmas – and especially Christmas Eve – is full of traditions, which are mostly celebrated with family, and I'm hardly the only one of us dog lovers who stubbornly insists that my dogs are also my family, and not just my animals. My dogs therefore also come with us on Christmas Eve, and fortunately the rest of the family is completely on board, especially because my dogs are certainly not the only furry four-legged family members who are there.

My great love for dogs (and animals in general) does not come from a strange place, so last time we celebrated Christmas with my family, there were 7 of us – and 6 dogs ;-)
Even though the family has expanded since last time, so that we will be 9 people this time, our 6 dogs still make up a nice large percentage of the company, even in a wonderful combination of Labrador, Tibetan Spaniel, Chihuahua, Coton de Tulear and Border Collie.

I feel incredibly lucky to have a family that shares my love of dogs and isn't afraid of a little dog hair. We take it for granted that if you want to have a belly rub, it means having at least one dog on your lap, and if you have a free hand, it's of course to pet a dog ;-)

When it comes to unwrapping presents, there are usually also gifts for the dogs. And here I must admit with shame that the dogs are actually the only ones I have yet to buy for! I usually always finish all my Christmas gift shopping by Black Friday (oh yes, I'm one of those crazy people too), but I couldn't quite decide what to get the dogs.
I think I've finally come to the conclusion that, in addition to a big gnawing bone for each, Dumle should get a new bling-bling competition collar, and Saga should get a new basket, as her old one is getting very worn and ugly. It's been a long process to get it thrown out, though, as she's had it since she was a little puppy, so it makes me a little nostalgic!

In general, I'm really looking forward to Christmas Eve, which will also be a bit special, since it will be my daughter's first Christmas Eve. A little snow would be fantastic, though, as I'm impatiently waiting to be able to take some new snow pictures! Until then, you'll have to make do with the ones from last year, to give the blog a bit of winter and Christmas spirit :-)

Hope you all have a really lovely Christmas!

About the blogger:

My name is Line, I am 23 years old and I have two beautiful dogs - Saga: a 5-year-old Tibetan Spaniel, and Dumle: a 4-year-old Labrador.
I love collaborating and developing with my dogs, and we therefore regularly try out all sorts of different disciplines within dog sports. Our biggest passion, however, is rally, where we can often be found on the competition track.
