7 tips for fun during the winter months

7 tips til sjov i vintermånederne

For many, winter brings vacation time, but also darker and colder days.

Therefore, at times you may either have a little extra time or need fun experiences with your four-legged friend!

And therefore you can benefit from a little inspiration for new things.

Therefore, here are some ideas so that you and your dog can have a fun winter together!

1.
Explore new places!

More time = opportunity to explore new places with your dog!

That way you stimulate your dog mentally and physically, and you get a wonderful shared experience - and maybe you can bring a canine friend or two along!

And as they say – a stimulated dog is a happy dog!

2. Take some great photos

If the weather is nice, it's a perfect opportunity to take a few new, nice photos of your best friend.

Maybe it can do some cute tricks that look good in pictures?

Please share them with us using the hashtag #dogcoachdk

3. Liven up your walk

Spend some extra time on your daily walks and have fun!

We have collected some suggestions in a previous post - you can see them right here:

And what if the weather doesn't hold?

We know that the rain comes in Denmark's winter months - that's why we also have a rain guarantee on several products ( we have collected them here ).

And that's why we've put together some ideas for indoor entertainment.

4. Get your nose moving

One of the best things for your dog is nose work!

If you already do nose work with your dog, you can find new places

But if you are new, you can start by hiding treats for your dog around the house or on walks.

At home, you can hide the treats on shelves, on chairs, under the carpet, behind jars - only your imagination sets the limits! Of course, they must be hidden so that the dog can find them without getting hurt.

5. Make puzzles

If it's down to the wire, you can quickly activate your dog by letting it use its head to solve tasks.

You can buy lots of fun dog puzzles, or you can use a towel, for example!

You just have to:

-   Unfold the towel

-   Spread the treats out on the towel

-   Roll up the towel

-   Let your dog figure out how to get the tasty treats

Once your dog has tried it a few times, you can start tying a – initially loose – knot on the towel to make it more difficult for him!

6. Teach your dog new tricks!

Your dog will love learning something new with you.

This strengthens your cooperation and stimulates the dog – and he will definitely appreciate the extra treats.

You can find many fun tricks to teach your dog – everything from spinning around to cleaning up toys, so again, the only limits are your imagination!

7. Treat your dog to a “litter box”

You can easily let your dog use his snout and head with the help of a cardboard box - just fill it with crumpled newspaper, tea towels, rags and anything else you have lying around.

In the box, you throw your lovely dog's food (or maybe some treats) on top of the mess and then let the dog find the food!

Just remember to keep an eye on your dog - especially if he already likes to destroy boxes.
